Building Sustainable Futures: Grants for Environmental Innovation and Conservation

Introduction

The Conservation Fund’s Building Sustainable Futures program provides grants for environmental innovation and conservation. The program awards grants under two categories: Research and Development; and Implementation. Projects that are funded through the Research and Development category must showcase how their innovations will contribute to building sustainable futures in California. Building Sustainable Futures is a program that funds projects that use innovation to protect the environment, promote conservation, and strengthen communities.

The Building Sustainable Futures program was created to fund projects that use innovation to protect the environment, promote conservation, and strengthen communities. It’s funded by the California Conservation Corps (CCC), which is part of the state’s Building Sustainable Futures initiative.

The CCC awards grants to help protect the environment and promote conservation through a variety of activities including:

  • Cleaning up polluted sites;
  • Removing invasive plants from public lands;
  • Creating native habitat gardens in urban areas;
  • Restoring wildlife habitats on private land by removing exotic species and planting native ones instead

The program awards grants under two categories: Research and Development; and Implementation.

The program awards grants under two categories: Research and Development; and Implementation.

Research and Development Grants are for projects that develop new technologies or practices to address environmental challenges. The research should be conducted by an organization that has the capacity to conduct rigorous evaluations of the results, both at the end of the project and over time as conditions change.

Implementation Grants are for organizations that have already developed strategies for addressing environmental challenges through innovation, but need funding to implement those strategies on a larger scale than they could do on their own (e.g., through partnerships with other organizations).

Projects that are funded through the Research and Development category must showcase how their innovations will contribute to building sustainable futures in California.

All projects must be located in California. In addition, the project must be a research and development project (i.e., not previously funded) that contributes to building sustainable futures in California.

Conclusion

Grants for conservation and environmental innovation are vital for our future. Thus Organizations and Governments must take interest into this factor and come with more support and help.
